Sell Your Home Without the Stress
December 4, 2017
Selling your home can be a very stressful undertaking. Chances are, you have bought another property or are at least paying rent elsewhere, so you have a lot of financial pressure on you. Then there are any potential renovations you have to do, the physical moving, plus continuing with your life as it is, and it can get to be overwhelming. But there are things you can do to remove some of the stress and allow you to focus on other areas of your life.
Find A Good Agent
There are a lot of realtors out there but it is important that you work with one you like and that you feel will protect your interests. Talk to people you know who have sold or bought property recently and see what they thought of their agent. If they were selling, ask how aggressive or how close to asking they got for their house. If they didn’t get asking price when it came time to sell your home, why? Was it due to the realtor or was it due to conditions out of their hands?
Leave Your Emotions Out
One of the most difficult things when it comes to making the decision to sell your home is the emotions that come with it. If you have lived there a long time, you may want to price it higher than the market can stand as you have those emotions attached to it. If you did a lot of renovations, you may also think it should be priced higher due to the cost of the work. But this is why you hire a real estate professional. They know what you can get from the market and what your home is worth. They do not have the attachment that you do so they can be fair. That said, if you do not like what they tell you, you are welcome to get a second agent in for an opinion.
Let Them Work
For some people, even though they have hired someone to sell their home, they have a hard time letting go. They are constantly in touch with the agent, wanting to know what is going on, why the house hasn’t sold, why there haven’t been showings, or anything else that may come up. But it is important to let your realtor do their job and let them decide what is best to sell your home. There is a reason that you hired them and that is because they know how to do this and you don’t.
Stay Away
Once you hire a realtor, you need to let them do their job when it comes to getting your home sold. Stay out of their way, find other things to do during showings and wait for them to call you with an offer. While it may be tough, this is what needs to be done to make this process go smoothly.
By hiring a realtor, you will be able to save yourself of some of the stress that comes with selling your home. Listen to what they say, they are a professional and know what they are doing.
